Mr. Alex Johnson

I am grateful for the new opportunity to represent Sherrard High School as Principal for the 2025-26 school year. In my four years as Associate principal we have accomplished many great things under the leadership of Dr. Carl Johnson and Mr. Tim Wernentin. I look forward to the new challenge of carrying on a great tradition. Being a 2004 Sherrard alum and now Principal, I never thought I would find myself in this position, but I do firmly understand the importance this school has on the community and will strive to make it the best learning community that we can. 

I will be fortunate to work with an excellent staff that puts the students first. We will continue to work hard to prepare, inspire and empower our students for today and for their futures. We know that a strong partnership between the school and home is essential for student success, and we're committed to fostering a positive and open relationship with all our parents and guardians. A couple of areas that every school is attempting to navigate through in today's world is attendance, cell phone use and vaping. The school is continually assessing different solutions to these issues, but your support from home will be necessary to address these situations effectively.

As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world”. No matter the circumstances of any child, they have an opportunity at Sherrard to become successful and be prepared for the next stages of their life. Sherrard offers a perfect complement of small town living with many opportunities for our students.
