Testing Information
ASVAB
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test is being offered this year at Sherrard High School. This is the military entrance exam, but can also provide valuable career information. Taking this test does not sign students up for the military, or commit them in any way. This test is open to current juniors and seniors.
Test Date: TBD
See Mrs Drish for more information.
NMSQT
The NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) offers several key benefits, including practicing for the SAT, gaining access to scholarships, and receiving personalized feedback on academic strengths and weaknesses. It also allows students to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, a prestigious competition for recognition and scholarships.
Test Date: TBD
ACT
The state now mandates the school-day ACT as a graduation requirement for all 11th grade students.
9th grade students will take the PreACT 9 Secure.
10th grade students will take the PreACT Secure.
Test Date: TBD
It's important to remember that students can register and take the ACT or SAT throughout the year. They do not need to wait until the spring of their junior year to take their first exam. However, the State of Illinois requires students to take the ACT at school as part of their graduation requirements.
